POSITION DESCRIPTION:

* Building and maintaining long-term trusting relationships with retail store associates, retail management, and client management.

* Maintaining consistency and highly visible presence in designated retail stores within assigned territory.
* Maintaining consistent store visit schedule and entering into assigned system monthly.

* Ensuring product look and display is consistent with protocol, plan-o-gram compliance, samples working properly, overall appearance and above presentation standards of competitive products.
* Attending required training sessions on assigned products.

* Routinely training and ensuring understanding of retail sales associates on product, brand awareness, and brand image.

* Routinely participating and/or presenting in retail sales location store meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* Undergraduate degree preferred with an emphasis in Business or Marketing desired
* Minimum two years experience in retail, retail operations, retail distribution, merchandising, sales, marketing and service organizations required.

* Excellent communication skills required.

* Exceptional skills in customer service, time management, self-confidence, flexibility, analysis, accountability, practicality, presentation, and communication in assigned region.

* Strong presentation skills with small to medium sized groups.
* Significant understanding of remote business tools such as home appliances, smart phones, tablets, and/or laptop use, including trouble-shooting issues with connectivity.
* Valid drivers license in state of residence.

Job Summary:
Carries out programs and projects involving natural and synthetic colors in respective market segments in order to develop the in-house knowledge of the technology and application of these colorants. Uses knowledge developed in this area to promote and build new color sales and reinforce existing ones by providing technical service support to internal and external customers. This is a strong resource to the Technical Support Manager with regard to short and long-range plans, strategies and tactics.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Lead, plan and track all phases of the product life cycle with supervision.
* Work on new product ideas and customer requirements.
* Report on how new product ideas could solve more complex problems.
* Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure alignment of objectives and development of suitable methodologies.
* Develop solutions for projects, including the ability to diagnose issues and troubleshoot and communicate the results to customers.
* Report on how new product ideas could solve more complex problems.
* Provide training and guidance in product development.
* Evaluates and matches competitive natural and synthetic colors currently approved by the FDA.
* Develop and institute programs directed toward the development of new products or line extension of existing ones with focus on natural colors and formulation ingredients.
* Work with Technical Support Managers in development of innovative ideas, color innovations and preparation of prototypes for presentation to key customers.
* Direct interaction and technical information exchange with other Sensient business units including Color and Flavor.
* Work in improving the properties of FDA-permitted colors, i.e. light stability, thermal stability, etc., by physical modification of the colorants.
* Formulate mixtures of colors with natural colors and/or certified colorants.
* Evaluate and characterize new natural colors that are not currently approved by the FDA, and make recommendations regarding their potential use as food colorants in respective market segment.
* Work with Sensient Food Colors -N.A. R&D in developing manufacturing procedures for colors that we would like to make.

* Interpret and keep up-to-date with FDA regulations regarding food colorants, both the exempt from certification (natural colors) and certified (FD&C) colors.
* Assist Quality Control in development of quality control procedures and provide standards of newly developed solutions when warranted.
* Support sales staff and travels with them to call on clients and prospects.
* Develop assay procedures for natural and synthetic colors.
* Provide assistance and training to Marketing and Sales departments as needed.
* Establish and maintain a bibliography of scientific literature, articles and patents on approved and potential natural and synthetic colors.
* Assist Technical Support Manager in developing technical brochures and specification data sheets for natural and synthetic colors.
* Present seminars/workshop on the use of food colorants at academic institutions and/or trade organizations.
* Represent the company by participating and attending various trade organizations, i.e. Institute of Food Technologists, American Association of Cereal Chemists, etc.
* Responsible to constantly seek improved ways and methods to better serve customers, external and internal.

Education & Experience:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in general science, food science or equivalent education.
* 7 years of minimum experience required.
* 10 years of industry experience and management experience preferred.
