Our client is seeking a freelance Quantity Surveyor to work in the Power & Civils sector in the South West

Requirements:

* Worked as a QS on framework contracts
* Worked within the Civil sector previously
* Able to work on NEC form of contract including options A, C and E
* Experience working on Electrical Substations previously
* Worked in a client facing role previously
* Able to attend meetings across the clients other offices

Duties:

* Setting up and administrating of Sub-Contractors
* Able to manage cash flow and agreeing applications with the client
* Able to work to deadlines
* Submitting Monthly CVRs, Agreeing applications with the client

Location: Monmouthshire
Rate: £300 – £325 per day

Commercial Gas Operations Manager – Hertfordshire

My client is a very well known air conditioning manufacturer that has a very good reputation from its staff and also the equipment; They are well established and have many years in the air conditioning industry. They have a low staff turnover and promote from within for people that have the right attributes.

Due to expansion, they are looking for an operations manager for their commercial gas side, you will be:-

Covering the South East England area based from their office in Hertfordshire 3-4 days a week
Working underneath the regional service manager to make sure the engineers and service controllers are all running smoothly
Making sure out of hours cover for clients is always there
Doing RAMS, procurement for the PPE gear, monitoring performance of the teams and relaying this back to the regional service manager

Skills Needed

Be living within travelling distance to their office in Hertfordshire would be needed as you will be there 3-4 days per week
A good background in the commercial heating sector, having experience with LPG and/or oil would be beneficial but not essential
You would either need experience doing a similar job or they would also look at a commercial gas engineer that is looking to get off the tools and progress their career

You will be trained in the cost analysis of building and energy systems and having demonstrable work experience in the field.

The Role:

* Validation of costs from suppliers for works undertaken
* Development of best practices for cost reporting
* Production of client reports following the interpretation of cost data
* Production and validation of spend to save proposals alongside line management
* Promotion of efficiencies based on cost analysis
* Working understanding of renewable technologies and options to reduce carbon emissions.
* To ensure that the information management system is maintained to enable accurate data and timely reports to be delivered to users and management in a form, which supports decision-making
* Liaison with the government departments on initiatives and legislation changes

Experience:

Essential:

* Robust knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages
* Experience of working with a multi-site portfolio
* Demonstrable multi-site cost analysis reporting
* Ability to multi task and coordinate reporting requirements to contract requirements
* Minimum basic knowledge technical/ energy systems
* Hold, or ability to obtain, clearance to work in a secure environment
* Understanding of legislative changes that may affect estate costs
* Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for cost analysis
* Experience of validating supplier costs

Desirable:

* Demonstrable knowledge of good cost management of energy practices

Planner – Overview

The opportunity for a planner had opened in an idyllic location in Europe. Only a short train or plane journey away from London, you will have the experience of working in another country whilst still working for a Tier 1, London based construction organisation.

Planner – The Projects

This is a major construction project with complex electrical installation circa £230m. You will be based on site with the entire team and another planner. We need someone who can write the entire programme in P6 and update the progress and cost load throughout the project duration.

Planner – Key Skills and Experience

* An proficient user od Primavera P6 (can produce a whole construction programme)
* Experience of planning on site for New Build construction
* Project Controls experience is ideal
* An understanding of M&E e.g. wiring, data centre, power grid substation experience ideal

Planner – The Candidate

Ideally a flexible candidate who is keen to travel would most enjoy this role. We are looking for a QS who has preferably a construction engineering background who is pro-active in their approach, working on a hands on basis who is able to take control of the contract completing the admin tasks working from both site at the airport and the office at Leicester.

Geotechnical Engineer

Qualifications:
Degree level qualification in geology/civil engineering or a related environmental subject
Minimum 5 years` experience working in geotechnical engineering
