Investment Banking Risk Monitoring Analyst (Front Office)

An Investment Banking Risk Monitoring Analyst is required by a leading global investment bank to join a Front Office team responsible for the oversight and risk management of the award-winning Liquid Alternatives business including strategy monitoring / oversight, regulatory reporting and compliance, investor risk reporting, strategy due diligence, operational oversight, onboarding etc.

Your key responsibilities will include

– Assisting with the production of risk analytics including risk investigations and compliance monitoring for the managed account platforms
– Analysing and reviewing of investment restriction breaches, engaging with Hedge Fund clients and/or Investors to discuss calculations, requirements, compliance, legal, mitigation etc.
– Liaising with Prime Brokers, Fund Administrators, Trading Advisors and other teams within the business to investigate and resolve issues
– Assisting with risk analysis, suitability review and legal execution of risk and investment restriction changes
– Monitoring, logging and investigating tracking errors between managed accounts and relevant benchmark funds
– Cash management – overseeing cash movements across accounts to satisfy margin calls and manage counterparty risk.

You will be a graduate in a quantitative subject with a strong academic track record. You will have knowledge of risk analytics including Greeks, Value at Risk and Stress Scenarios. You will also have knowledge of financial products including derivatives, whilst computer programming skills (MatLab, Python, VBA, C++ etc.) would also be advantageous. Any experience of working in a risk analytics environment would be useful, although very strong new graduates will also be considered. In addition, you must possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as well as a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure

The Specialist Intervention Worker will offer one-to-one specialist support to young people and young adults aged 15 – 29 to engage in voluntary work and help, help with confidence and self-esteem building, training leading to qualifications, employability skills, work experience placements, help with health & wellbeing recovery.

You will also work closely with employer engagement/education and training structures and Employment Development Workers elewhere in the network of YPP providers and in general in order to manage the transition into employment. You will also support a young person’s progression using a mix of holistic support, challenge and mentoring techniques, keeping a focus on achieving sustainable employment and/or training/education at all times.

The successful candidate will possess a robust knowledge and experience of employability and employer focussed job support. You will also:

* Be able to demonstrate and role model essential employability behaviours and experience in motivating others
* Possess a robust knowledge of employment related and wider social and economic issues and barriers that young people face in accessing employment and experience in addressing these effectively
* Have a sound knowledge of partner agencies that support young people in the local area
* Possess and maintain an understanding of DWP processes and requirements that some young people are likely to be subject to

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Advice & Guidance and preferably a Level 4 or working towards a Level 4.

Experience of working with people on the whole spectrum of mental ill health is desirable as well as working with adults and young people.

Appropriate DBS checks will be required for each Specialist Intervention Worker.

They are currently working on the development of a complex software tool which will be used to analyse the UK’s energy infrastructure and business model, enabling a future energy strategy to be developed to combat the challenges of energy security, energy cost and environmental sustainability.

They are now looking for a Software Engineer to join their team in Birmingham on a contract basis working within an agile.

Responsibilities include:
The candidate will be required to work as part of an agile development team to deliver documented software to support the development of a whole system analysis tool.
The candidate will need to use their knowledge and experience to create efficient code in the MATLAB environment, interfacing to SQL and occasionally writing Java (or similar) to improve run-time performance.
The candidate will produce structured, documented, supportable code.

Skills and experience required:

This person needs to have a proven history of developing software in a number of different languages ideally from within the following list: C/C++, Java, Python, MATLAB, SQL. Key Outputs: Operable Code, Test plans, Design documents. One of these roles would need to focus on software testing.
Previous experience of software development is essential, with the ideal candidate able to demonstrate that they’ve worked through the whole life-cycle.
Previous experience of development using the AGILE methodology would be an advantage.
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (Software, systems, physical science, mathematics)
Previous demonstrated ability to perform specific research leading to the specification and design of systems.
Experience of IBM DOORS and/or Sparx EA would be advantageous.
